Rescuers from Clogher Head RNLI, in Ireland, fired flares at night to light the landing point and save three missing boaters.

The rescuers from Drogheda, in County Louth, responded to a call on Easter Monday to conduct a search at Drogheda Bar around a mile from the mouth of the River Boyne where three people in a small boat were reported missing.

The Drogheda Coast Guard Unit rescued three people from an upturned boat off the bar and Coast Guard boat brought the casualties up the Boyne River to a landing point where they were met by ambulances.

The lifeboat lit the scene with flares and followed up the river to assist.

At the landing area, the RNLI and the Coastguard administered first aid to the casualties until the ambulances arrived.
