Two people have been rescued after their boat capsized off the coast of Western Australia.
Authorities were alerted and shortly after the report, a distress flare was sighted in the area.
A coordinated search involving police aircraft, Western Australia’s rescue helicopter, Jurien Bay Marine Rescue, and several private vessels led to the discovery of the capsized boat near Escape Island, south west of Jurien Bay.
Of the two passengers onboard the capsized vessel, a 52-year-old man received minor injuries and the 72-year-old woman was airlifted to the hospital with more serious injuries.
